Mongolian Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make Chinese-inspired dish that is perfect for a quick dinner. Here's a recipe for Easy 30-min. Mongolian Chicken:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated or minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped, for garnish
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions:
In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken cubes to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
While the chicken is cooking, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl until well combined.
Once the chicken is browned, reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the sauce over the chicken.
Stir the chicken and sauce together until the chicken is well coated in the sauce.
Let the chicken and sauce cook together for another 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is fully cooked through.
Serve the Mongolian Chicken hot over a bed of cooked rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions. Enjoy!
